Example 1 – Bespoke arrangement

To help you understand how your funeral choices impact pricing, we've compiled the following example. Please note, this example is indicative only and does not represent a 'package' offered by Walter Carter Funerals.

Religious service and burial, with guests attending both locations

Robert, a married father of two in his mid 40s, tragically died in a car accident and his wife Shelley has asked Walter Carter Funerals to organise his funeral.

Following his mother’s death a few years earlier, Robert and his wife, Shelley, took the time to discuss their own funeral wishes. Because of this, Shelley has a detailed understanding of what he wanted for his funeral arrangements.

Robert was Catholic and wanted his funeral service to be held at the local church and led by a Priest he’d known for many years. He wanted to be buried, rather than cremated, and a family lawn plot (purchased when Robert’s mother died) is available at Botany Cemetery. Due to the circumstances of his death, Shelley has asked that there be no viewing.

Shelley has requested a bespoke arrangement incorporating a church service and burial. The Priest will carry out the service at the church and then also be at the cemetery for the committal.

Shelley is expecting about 150 people to come along to the service and wants to have a memorial book on hand for everyone to sign. She also wants to ensure that each person receives a copy of the order of service.

To help move family members to and from the church and cemetery, Shelley has asked Walter Carter Funerals to provide two sedans (with drivers). Flowers will be kept to a minimum, with only a simple arrangement atop the coffin, and the music and tribute slideshow will be organised by Walter Carter Funerals.

Shelley has advised that the after-service gathering will be held in the church hall, and food and refreshments will be provided by family and friends.
